There are several symptoms of this form of arthritis. The most common ones include:

1. Swelling and pain in joints, crackling sound at the time of motion, burning pain in the joints. Other organs of the body are not affected by degenerative arthritis.

2. Stiff joints limiting the motion of the joints, stiff body after a long period of inactivity.

3. Severe pain in the body joints while walking, climbing, opening bottles.

4. Degenerative osteoarthritis of the spine will pressurize the spinal nerves; the result of this is weakness and numbness.

5. If you suffer from degenerative osteoarthritis of neck then you will feel pain in the lower back and neck region. Degenerative osteoarthritis will cause formation of bone spur.

6. Swelling, pain and inflammation in the areas of joints are also symptoms of degenerative osteoarthritis. Change in the level of pain with the changing season is also one sign of it. The symptoms of degenerative osteoarthritis differs form person to person.

7. If you are affected by degenerative osteoarthritis, your foot will develop bunions which will force the big toe to bend in the direction of the small toe of the same foot causing irritation and pain in the joints.
