Tertiary Lyme Disease is a highly inflammatory disease that spreads through a tick bite. It is alarming to know that every person does not experience the symptoms of this disease right at the first stage. The person who is lucky enough to notice the symptoms of this condition initially experiences flu like signs. This means that the affected patient may experience unreasonable chill, muscle pain, headaches throughout the day. Further, his body temperature becomes relatively higher and he feels lethargic through the day chores.
One of the most evident symptoms of this disease is a slight raised red colored spot at the point of the tick bite. This bite is different from other insect bites and can be easily identified by an experienced practitioner. In medical terms, this bite is often called “bulls eye rash” and may be as large as 3 inches. In the later stage of this disease, people might experience itching throughout the body. This may lead to acute redness and rashes on the skin. Next, these patients also undergo acute inflammation of joints which lead to pains, arthritis and Bursitis in few cases. People also face immense stiffness in the neck that restricts their mobility and flexibility.
