Lupus symptoms are established slowly and it might take a long time for someone to notice them. Also, they tend to vary from person to person. Some of the common symptoms of Lupus are:-
Fever: Almost 90 percent of the lupus patients suffer from fever which is caused by the inflammatory nature of the disease. It does not pose a great risk except when the person is suffering from severe lupus.
Raynaud's phenomenon: It is a symptom in which there is pain in toes and fingers which is caused by spasms in damaged blood vessels which in turn is caused by stress or cold. If it is a severe case then it might also lead to gangrene.
Arthritic Pain: Joint pain or swelling and pain in muscles are some of the most common symptom. Few of the characteristics of this pain are:
- The pain usually takes place in the morning and then reduces as the day goes on. However, it might occur again if the person tries to do something.
- It can be mild or acute.
- Elbows, ankles, fingers, knees and wrists are the most affected joints.
Some of the other symptoms are hair loss, depression, headaches, chest pain, ulcers and anemia.
