People suffering from Lupus Erythematosus develop numerous visible symptoms on the body. One of the most common complains of such people are fatigue, muscle aches, high body temperature, arthritis, ulcers of mouth. In most of the patients a characteristic facial rash around the bridge of the nose develops in the shape of a butterfly. This sign is a signal of the onset of this disease. There is heavy inflammation around the lungs and heart which can be easily detected through an internal examination. In some cases, people also experience inadequate circulation of blood through the toes and finger tips.
In the later stages, this disease manifests in the form of skin discoloration. Skin rashes, scars are typically found around the face, scalp and neck region. In severe cases, skin scarring can lead to permanent loss of hair on the scalp. The face scars along with the high levels of internal inflammation takes its worse toll after an exposure to the sun rays. This condition is called photosensitivity where the inflammation reaches almost all parts of the body. At last, such patients develop stiffness, pain and deformities of sorts in the joint areas like wrist, hands, knees, hip, feet and more.
