What are Common Symptoms of Arthritis?

Increasing stiffness in the joints over a period of time, pain and swelling in the areas of joints are common symptoms of arthritis. If you feel fever or chill even when nothing has happened to you, then it is indication of the onset of osteoarthritis. If you are suffering from arthritis your finger will get stiff, painful swelling and inflammation in arms, legs and wrist areas on either side of the body. If you feel the above when you wake up then it is sign of rheumatoid arthritis.

If you feel pain, joint inflammation, sharp pain which is followed by fever or chill due to injury then it may be the symptoms of infectious arthritis. Children are also affected by arthritis. Common symptoms of juvenile rheumatoid arthritis in children are loss of appetite, sudden fever, reduction in the weight, rash development on hands and legs.

Some types of arthritis can also affect body organs other than joints. Abnormalities in the organs like lungs, heart and kidney, swelling of lymph node, fatigue and feeling of uneasiness are symptoms of arthritis. Some people also feel pain with the changing weather conditions. Pain for several hours after getting up from the bed is also a common symptom of arthritis.
